Transcend is a global business transformation program that will modernize our foundational transactional processes and harmonize them into one “clean” ERP as a standardized platform for growth and efficiency gains. This program will simplify the Pharmaceutical ERP landscape from 7 to 1, standardizing processes to have a cost-effective, fit-for-purpose digital backbone that will enable us to support the Pharmaceutical business with agility. Additionally, the program will remediate the end-of-life system exposure that we risk towards the end of this decade. We are seeking a strong PMO Senior Operations Manager to support delivery excellence for Transcend, a global transformation program focused on standardizing ways of working and consolidating seven ERP systems into one S/4 HANA platform supporting the Innovative Medicine business.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s in business administration, Engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of proven experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in program or project management, including PMO experience within large, sophisticated, global transformation programs, ideally including ERP implementations.
  • Consistent track record of successfully leading PMO operations teams, handling cross-functional and geographically dispersed resources.
  • Strong expertise in delivery governance, RAID management, schedule and scope control, status reporting, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement within PMO functions.
  • Experience providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong collaborator management and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across project teams and business functions.
  • Strong business insight and understanding of compliance, quality standards, and change management principles.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and software, and familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, handling multiple priorities and sophisticated dependencies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead PMO operations across program phases by enabling effective governance, clear communication, and high-quality inputs for decision forums
  • Drive integrated planning across multiple sophisticated releases, handling RAID and change control processes to enable proactive issue resolution and focused execution
  • Supervise schedule management by ensuring accurate, data-driven tracking against the integrated program plan
  • Handle scope governance by ensuring all changes are evaluated, documented, and aligned with program objectives and stakeholder expectations
  • Deliver consistent and transparent status reporting across governance levels, providing clear, actionable insights to support decision-making
  • Champion predictive delivery practices to identify risks and opportunities early, enabling timely intervention and course correction
  • Ensure PMO operations align with compliance and quality standards, embedding a strong risk management culture focused on identification, mitigation, and follow-through
  • Supervise deliverables tracking and governance across releases to maintain program integrity, visibility, and delivery confidence
  • Lead and develop a diverse PMO operations team, including Deployment Leads and offshore resources, to deliver consistent, high-quality results.
  • Coach and mentor team members to build capability, develop accountability, and promote a collaborative, high-performing environment
  • Partner with Global Program Managers and PMO leadership to align priorities, integrate delivery plans, and strengthen communication across teams
  • Build strong relationships across geographically dispersed teams to enable collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
  • Serve as an escalation point for PMO-related issues, coordinating resolution with leadership and cross-functional collaborators
  • Align deployment activities with overall program objectives by partnering with Deployment Leads to enable seamless execution and risk mitigation.
  • Provide clear and timely updates on PMO performance, resource needs, risks, and improvement opportunities to support informed decision-making.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by using data and insights to enhance processes, tools, and team capabilities.
  • Ensure effective PMO operations through accurate planning, focused tracking, reliable governance, and proactive risk management.
