About The Position

The Training Support Technician I aids the Industrial Program and various training programs relating to emergency service departments on the Brayton Fire Field. This role includes direct student contact, conducting preventative maintenance, and performing minor to major repairs to training props in the assigned area. The technician also acts as a safety evaluator during hands-on live fire training scenarios, recognizing health risks, proper PPE, and analyzing risk. Additionally, this position is responsible for tracking all consumable use during Industrial Program training deliveries, completing required consumable reports, and submitting these reports to the responsible parties before deadlines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of maintenance or construction repair related experience.
  • Valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to obtain certification from TEEX for operation in Forklift, Material Handler, and Man-Lift.
  • Ability to obtain and hold CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
  • Ability to obtain an Online Skills Evaluation certification.
  • Ability to obtain NFPA 470 Online Awareness and Operations.
  • Ability to obtain Texas Railroad Commission certification for DOT Cylinder Filler and Service and Installation.
  • Ability to obtain NFPA 1081 Exterior certification.
  • Ability to obtain NFPA 1081 Interior w/ ProBoard certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • No prior experience with a degree in an applicable field from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities
