The Training Specialist plays a pivotal role in fostering a safe, supportive, and effective learning environment for staff by coordinating and delivering targeted training programs that reflect the mission of Chief Seattle Club. This position emphasizes the development of core competencies in de-escalation techniques, Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH), low barrier and harm reduction approaches, maintaining healthy boundaries, and trauma-informed care. Key Focus Areas: 1. De-escalation: Lead trainings on practical de-escalation tactics to help staff safely and effectively manage challenging situations while reducing harm and ensuring the well-being of all involved. 2. PSH/Low Barrier/Harm Reduction: Develop and deliver educational content related to Permanent Supportive Housing principles, low-barrier practices, and harm reduction strategies to support vulnerable populations. 3. Boundaries: Facilitate sessions on setting and maintaining professional boundaries to foster healthy, ethical, and productive relationships with clients and colleagues. 4. Trauma-Informed Care: Ensure trainings incorporate trauma-informed care principles and practices, reinforcing a culture of empathy, safety, and respect throughout the organization. 5. Professional Development: Provide ongoing learning opportunities for staff, supporting their growth, skill development, and career advancement.
