About The Position

Feldmeier Equipment is seeking a Training Specialist to design, implement, and continuously improve training programs across our manufacturing and operations teams. This role is highly hands-on and will work directly on the shop floor to ensure employees are trained on safety, quality, processes, and equipment specific to stainless steel tank fabrication and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and the ability to translate technical processes into effective, practical training that supports safety, productivity, and quality goals.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or technical training role.
  • Strong understanding of shop floor operations and hands-on production environments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working on the production floor in an industrial setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in stainless steel fabrication, pressure vessels, tanks, or heavy manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with ASME standards, welding processes, or quality systems.
  • OSHA safety training experience.
  • Experience creating SOPs and hands-on training documentation.
  • Train-the-trainer certification or similar credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver training programs for production, welding, fabrication, assembly, maintenance, and operations personnel.
  • Conduct new hire onboarding and job-specific training, including safety, quality standards, and work instructions.
  • Create and update training materials such as SOPs, work instructions, visual aids, and on-the-job training checklists.
  • Partner with supervisors and subject matter experts to ensure training reflects current processes and equipment.
  • Train employees on stainless steel fabrication processes, equipment operation, tooling, and production standards.
  • Support training related to ASME standards, quality documentation, and customer or regulatory requirements as applicable.
  • Assist in cross-training initiatives to improve workforce flexibility and skill development.
  • Support OSHA-related safety training, including lockout/tagout, PPE, machine safety, and confined space awareness.
  • Ensure all safety and compliance training is completed, documented, and refreshed on schedule.
  • Work collaboratively with safety and quality teams to reinforce safe work practices and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and skill matrices.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through observations, feedback, and performance metrics.
  • Identify skill gaps and recommend training solutions to support operational goals.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
