About The Position

This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Division of Motor Vehicles improves the lives of Alaskans by accurately and efficiently issuing identity credentials, driver licenses, vehicle titles, and registrations. The Training team embodies DMV values of customer empathy, expertise, adaptability, and championing change through innovative training and collaboration. This position supports that mission by preparing employees and partners to deliver consistent, accurate, and customer-focused service statewide. This position works primarily in the Anchorage DMV office in a collaborative training environment that supports hands-on instruction, policy updates, and coordination with Training Specialists. The role also includes flexible/hybrid telework options for duties such as SOP drafting, training preparation, and administrative tasks. Occasional travel to outlying DMV offices is required for training and auditing needs.

Requirements

• Knowledge of teaching, training, research, making presentations, lecturing, testing, and other instructional methods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training to new DMV employees and follow-up training to existing staff on ALVIN and other licensing/vehicle databases.
• Assist the Training Specialist 2 by performing audits of new employees, identifying incorrect procedures, and providing coaching or corrective instruction.
• Draft and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) when policies, laws, or technology change.
• Support statewide training efforts by reporting training effectiveness and incorporating feedback into future instructional approaches.
• Travel to outlying DMV offices to conduct training and auditing of staff.
