About The Position

MTC is proud to operate the East Texas Treatment Facility in Henderson, TX, where our staff provide quality services in a safe, secure, and supportive environment. You’ll perform all substance abuse training activities to ensure Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) and Management & Training Corporation (MTC) training requirements are met. All related responsibilities are to ensure the maximum utilization of resources available for chemical dependency treatment and rehabilitation in compliance with MTC and TDCJ directives.

Requirements

  • Must possess current valid licensure as Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHSP), or current valid licensure as Qualified Credentialed Counselor (QCC) licensed to conduct counseling in a treatment environment.
  • Two (2) years full-time wage-earning experience in substance abuse treatment required.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
  • Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by TDCJ.
  • Maintain credentials and/or licensure required to maintain employment in position.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), major course work in Sociology, Criminal Justice, Psychology or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Train all new clinical staff according to TDCJ, TDSHS and MTC standards/requirements for all payers and programs.
  • Provides related assistance and guidance as required and, provides for specific training to ensure that all staff receive clinical information in accordance with State and Federal regulations, and program guidelines.
  • Ensures that clinical staff is completing training hours and recertification paperwork according to established guidelines, maintaining an approved training schedule, and following all requirements of the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals for obtaining Continuing Education Hours (CEHs).
  • Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques.
  • Maintain accountability of staff, Inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
