About The Position

Jamison Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified Training Specialist/Coordinator to provide part-time acquisition training and administrative support to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The successful candidate will support the planning, coordination, and execution of training programs for the Acquisition Workforce, including certification and continuous learning requirements. This position will also support employee onboarding, training records and databases, SharePoint resources, and acquisition workforce development activities.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of instructional technologies, IT hardware/software, and visual information systems used in training environments.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of contract types, cost and performance provisions, incentives, and contracting techniques.
  • Familiarity with procurement special emphasis programs, including Small and Disadvantaged Business programs, Buy American policies, and funding constraints.
  • Experience with cost analysis, audit requirements, and evaluation of contractor competency.
  • Ability to assemble and review documentation supporting audits, analyses, and evaluations.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), VA Acquisition Regulations (VAAR), contract law, and contract administration procedures.
  • Familiarity with electronic contract writing and management systems.
  • Experience utilizing databases and online training resources to track and deploy acquisition training.
  • Experience editing and maintaining SharePoint sites.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and judgment skills with the ability to interpret guidelines, adapt procedures, and resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting established deadlines and performance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, formulation, and execution of the annual training program for the Acquisition Workforce.
  • Support compliance with warranting training and FAC-C certification requirements.
  • Conduct meet-and-greet onboarding for new hires and assist with system access, initial training requirements, and onboarding documentation.
  • Implement and maintain an acquisition training database to track FAC-C training, Continuous Learning Points (CLPs), warrant levels, and required Contracting Officer Representative (COR) training.
  • Respond to COR inquiries regarding training requirements, CLPs, and certification processes.
  • Coordinate training assignments and responsibilities, schedule training sessions, establish priorities, and assist with resolving issues affecting training operations.
  • Provide formal feedback and periodic evaluations to supervisors and assist in developing individual training improvement plans, as needed.
  • Explore and implement online technology and software tools to enhance collaboration, knowledge sharing, and training efficiency.
  • Coordinate training activities across the NCO, streamline processes, consolidate resources, and establish training guidelines and expectations.
  • Collaborate with team members to create and standardize training plans and presentations.
  • Support communication of the contracting vision and coordination with functional areas within VA and other agencies.
  • Edit and design modern SharePoint team and communication pages to support training and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Maintain electronic repositories containing standard operating procedures, training schedules, internal guidance, training aids, and acquisition policy updates.
  • Utilize SharePoint web parts, including quick links, banners, and calendar feeds, to organize and provide access to training resources.
  • Provide additional administrative support as necessary to support training operations.
