This position plays a critical role in supporting the transition and long-term success of payroll operations into the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities by helping build department-wide knowledge, consistency, and long-term success in payroll services. The Training Specialist will work closely with payroll staff, managers, supervisors, HR professionals, and administrative personnel to learn and translate statewide payroll processes into effective, practical training for DOT&PF employees. This position develops and delivers engaging training programs, provides hands-on guidance and support, and helps ensure payroll technicians and division administrative staff have the tools and knowledge needed to work effectively together and maintain accurate, consistent payroll practices. The role also partners across the department to identify training needs, improve resources, and support a culture of continuous learning. In this role, you will help support a successful transition of payroll operations into the department by building employee knowledge, strengthening partnerships between payroll and division staff, and promoting consistent, effective business practices across DOT&PF.
