Training & Quality Assurance Specialist, M - F, 8:00am - 4:30pm
About The Position
Responsible for providing training, education, and quality assurance programs for UMass Memorial Health. Serves as a resource and subject matter expert to help enhance the patient experience and meet or exceed customer service requirements. The role develops and delivers training tied to performance improvement initiatives, supports training curriculum updates related to system upgrades and application enhancements, and provides application-navigation training for employees who are new to the department, a role, or the organization. The specialist also develops super-user application expertise and assesses employee competencies to identify skill-refreshment areas and prioritize educational needs.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree.
- Two years of related experience, such as health care billing, reimbursement, managed care, scheduling, registration financial clearance, or financial counseling.
- Experience with revenue cycle systems, third-party contracts, payment policies, claim processes, scheduling or registration systems, financial clearance, or financial counseling processes.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to train others in the use of revenue cycle systems.
- Knowledge of billing, reimbursement, and charges.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the listed requirements if it provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

- Conduct competency testing and use assessment tools to identify skill-refreshment areas and prioritize educational needs.
