About The Position

Responsible for providing training, education, and quality assurance programs for UMass Memorial Health. Serves as a resource and subject matter expert to help enhance the patient experience and meet or exceed customer service requirements. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for 40 hours per week.

Requirements

Associate’s degree.
At least two years of related experience, such as health care billing, reimbursement, managed care, scheduling, registration financial clearance, or financial counseling.
Experience with revenue cycle systems, third-party contracts, payment policies, claim processes, or scheduling/registration systems, financial clearance, or financial counseling processes.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to train others in the use of revenue cycle systems.
Knowledge of billing, reimbursement, and charges.
An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides proficiency in the listed areas of responsibility may be substituted for the requirements, unless certification, licensure, or registration is required.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver training and education related to performance improvement initiatives, including new or refresher classes.
Participate in system upgrades and application enhancement planning, using subject matter expertise to develop or revise training curriculum.
Develop and demonstrate super-user application expertise.
Train employees on application navigation during onboarding when they are new to the department, entering new roles, or joining the organization.
Perform competency testing and use assessment tools to identify areas requiring skill refreshment and prioritize educational needs.
