About The Position

To aid the supervisor in providing a safe work environment for line associates while producing a quality product for our customers using cost saving practices and efficiencies with minimal waste. This role involves overseeing pre-op and/or tear down, coordinating line set-up, reviewing production issues, schedules, and specifications, and working with other departments to prevent downtime. The Training Lead I also leads continuous improvement initiatives, assigns personnel, provides training, and recommends corrective actions. Excellent communication skills and approachability are essential for interacting with supervisors and line workers. The position is responsible for specification compliance, documentation, and legible record keeping, including lot tracking, waste, quality checks, and production data. Basic math skills, data entry into computer programs, and attention to detail are required. The ability to read and interpret various production-related documents is necessary. This position is expected to cross-train in all lead areas related to production and packaging and requires working safely at all times, spending 95% of the shift on the floor, and the ability to work a flexible schedule. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and production reports such as product usage, packaging, lot tracking, labor tracking, waste control, daily worksheets, and any forms deemed necessary by the Production Manager and Production Supervisor.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision yet be flexible and have the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand and operate tools or controls.
  • Occasionally required to sit, walk, stoop or crouch.
  • May occasionally move up to 25 pounds with a hoist, pallet-jack or cart.
  • Regularly lift up to 15 pounds of boxes of product, bales of cartons, or rolls of film.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees pre-op and/or tear down depending on shift.
