About The Position

NMSU Grants, located in sight of majestic Mount Taylor (11,300 feet), is a small, rural, comprehensive community college of the NMSU system located in scenic Cibola County, New Mexico, 75 miles west of Albuquerque. The campus serves a culturally rich and diverse student body qualifying as both a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and a Native American Serving Non-Tribal Institution (NASNTI). This position is a full-time, exempt role within the GRCC Grants CC College/Division, specifically in the GRCC Adult Basic Education Program department. The role is contingent upon external funding and follows a standard work schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The salary is commensurate with qualifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus Three years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.
  • Associate's Degree + 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers group and individual Adult Education instruction to include high school equivalency preparation and integrated training and education for adults.
  • Develops training curricula and/or recommends or utilizes vendor programs that meet instructional goals and objectives.
  • May collaborate with a technical instructor to support high school equivalency students while they simultaneously work toward education that leads to family-sustaining careers.
  • Formulates training outlines and determines instructional methods that best suit adult learners. Delivery may include differentiated instruction, class lectures, workshops and online instruction.
  • Coordinates or performs administrative functions necessary to deliver and document education.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of educational delivery methods and uses relevant data to recommend and implement changes as needed.
  • May review instructor performance and recommend improvements to program content and/or instructor presentation methods.
  • May recruit, select and train instructors.
  • May lead, guide and train staff/student employees, interns and/or volunteers who are performing related work.
  • May coordinate and facilitate instruction with NMSU partner entities.
