About The Position

ACLD has an exceptional full-time (35 hours per week) opportunity for an experienced human services professional looking to continue a career in adult education. The primary purpose of this job is to conduct training and learning sessions for direct care employees who support people with developmental disabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Service field required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience presenting training materials in group settings required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience presenting training materials in group settings required.
  • Obtain and maintain certifications as an instructor of American Heart Association CPR/First Aid/AED and in NYS-endorsed behavioral support curriculum (e.g.: SCIP-R, PROMOTE, etc.).
  • Work flexible hours and days, including evenings and weekends, on an as needed basis.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, twist, and lift a minimum of 10 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years preferred experience presenting training materials in group settings.
  • One (1) year experience working in an OPWDD setting preferred.
  • Two (2) years' experience supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
  • OPWDD status as an Instructor Trainer a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Teams, LITMOS and Eventbrite a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products (e.g.: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.)
  • Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct training agency-wide including but not limited to: NYS-endorsed behavioral support curriculum (e.g.: SCIP-R, PROMOTE, etc.), CPR/First Aid/AED certification courses, New Hire Orientation, supervisory and other program-defined, policy or regulatory-required trainings.
  • Provide administrative support to department including but not limited to generating, publishing and distributing Center for Learning training memos / reports / calendars / rosters.
  • Manage Center for Learning content on Microsoft Teams.
  • Assist with general management of Center for Learning databases, including collecting and entering all data related to department initiatives.
  • Assist in development of new Center for Learning reports, materials, presentations and videos.
  • Assist with development and creation of eLearning modules and management of Learning Management System.
