This position is responsible for assessing training needs, developing training materials, and delivering technical content and compressor training. He/she will coordinate training requirements based on needs identified through the Operations department and goals aligned with employee growth and development.

Requirements

  • This role requires in-depth knowledge of the oilfield and all aspects of compressor mechanics.
  • The ideal candidate has 5-10 years of experience in Operations of the gas compression industry and demonstrates a passion for continued learning.
  • Organizational skills required to streamline highly technical content into manageable portions of information.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • Experience with e-Learning and learning management systems
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Calm and patient demeanor, with the ability to adapt to various learning styles, as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years proven experience as a technical trainer in the compression industry.
  • High school diploma required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related discipline is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design training classes and develop training content based on input from various functions
  • Stay up to date with changing compressor technology, including electrical updates, panel updates, and any mechanical updates due to changing ESG regulations and Kodiak initiatives
  • Subject matter expert for specific compressor package components
  • Identify technical training gaps throughout organization and develop content to address gaps
  • Work alongside an instructional designer to determine the best approaches for each technical training class, accounting for the intended audience to ensure adult learning methods are integrated and hands-on class activities validate learning
  • Stay up to date on new training methods and proactively research teaching techniques
  • Attain post-training feedback for review and update class content accordingly
  • Develop technical assessments to ensure successful knowledge transfer and skill competency for each training class objective.
  • Maintain the completion records for training participants, by ensuring timely and accurate attendance and grading records are maintained within the Kodiak LMS
  • Maintain and manage training equipment
  • Travel required 50-75% of the time
