About The Position

Active participant on training team based in particular area of clinical or business expertise. Consistently accomplishes assigned tasks according to project deadlines, schedules and quality standards. This role requires an 18-month commitment to work full-time alongside other operational and IS professionals, to attend credentialing training (6-9 weeks) and to train end users across BJC Healthcare and WashU. Training will be provided Monday through Saturday, possibly on Sunday, during daytime and evening hours to accommodate the large volume of end users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • An 18-month commitment to work full-time alongside other operational and IS professionals.
  • Attend credentialing training (6-9 weeks).
  • Train end users across BJC Healthcare and WashU.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including Monday through Saturday (possibly Sunday), during daytime and evening hours.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with a variety of departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior training experience and expertise is strongly desired.
  • A passion for the education of adults.
  • Registered Nurse strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of BJC Healthcare and Washington University clinical and operational workflows, as well as policy and procedures is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and successfully complete the six to nine week Trainer Credentialing Program in St. Louis, which includes a passing grade of 80% or higher on the competency exam and successfully presenting a training topic.
  • Prepare the classroom by setting up the training environment and other logistics prior to scheduled training classes.
  • Deliver standardized, instructor-led, scripted training curriculum to Providers, clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Conduct engaging and effective training sessions to diverse audiences.
  • Perform attendance and competency assessment tracking after each class.
  • Complete required documentation related to class sessions.
  • Incorporate the principles of Adult Learning in training classes.
  • Assess training needs before, during and after each class and make necessary adjustments to training delivery based on student and training team feedback.
  • Adhere to BJC HealthCare and WashU core values, demonstrating positive patient/guest relations and effective staff interactions.
  • Apply knowledge of unit/department workflows and policy/procedures associated with the use of Epic software.
  • Provide support to all staff and providers during the initial weeks of go-live according to the assigned coverage schedule.
  • Conduct rounding to BJC Healthcare and WashU sites during go-live to support end users.
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate training and support issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Participate in regular day-to-day communication with BJC Healthcare and WashU project teams to ensure training meets organizational needs.
  • Provide on-going unit/department rounding as assigned for training and support post go-live.
  • Identify issues and concerns and communicate them back to the project team for discussion and resolution.
  • Identify trends that may require additional training focus, in-service needs, policy/procedure modifications, or system modifications.
  • Promote effective use of the Epic system, identify and prevent bad habits and workarounds.
  • Serve as a change agent to promote, effect, and support change in workflow and behaviors related to the Epic system implementation.
  • Conduct new hire computer system training during the transition period as needed.
