About The Position
The Shores of Lake Phalen, a Sonida Senior Living community located in Maplewood, MN, is seeking a Trained Medication Aide. This premier retirement community provides quality care to residents in an Assisted Living and Memory Care setting. The role involves administering resident medications, assisting with personal hygiene and daily living activities, and monitoring patient stability. The community utilizes cutting-edge technology such as SafelyYou for fall detection, Advanced EHR Technologies for care assessments, Sage for call light response, and Microsoft Power BI for data needs.
Requirements
- Must be licensed in Minnesota as a Medication Aide.
- Must maintain current and unencumbered licensure.
Responsibilities
- Setting up and administering resident medications as ordered by physicians and per professional standards of medication administration.
- Supervising CNAs as directed.
- Providing patients' personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths.
- Providing for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
- Maintaining patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine; recording intake and output information.
