About The Position

W&B Service Company is hiring a Trailer Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on semi-trailer systems to meet minimum Department of Transportation standards. Work includes servicing brakes, electrical and lighting systems, chassis components, trailer flooring and exterior structures. The technician must follow all safety and health standards and pass pre-employment testing. Experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements

Mechanical aptitude or construction experience.
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
Must have own tools.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb, and/or sit frequently throughout the day.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Attention to detail.
Must pass pre-employment testing.

Experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and repair all semi-trailer systems to meet minimum DOT standards.
Remove and replace brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, bearings, races, and associated parts.
Repair electrical and lighting systems.
Repair or replace chassis components, including springs, spring hangers, equalizers, complete slider assemblies, axles, and subframes.
Repair mud flap brackets and dolly leg assemblies.
Repair or replace flooring, rub rails, doors, and door trim.
Repair roofs, panels, nose panels, and lower and upper rails.
Conform to all safety and health standards.
