About The Position

This position involves assembling prefabricated parts to build metal and wood truck trailers, following blueprints. The role requires laying out, fitting, drilling, screwing, bolting, and riveting metal sheeting, frames, bars, and clips using various hand tools and machines. Additionally, the assembler will fasten preassembled trailer sections to the frame, assemble and mount the undercarriage and tires, string wiring for the lighting system, and apply sealant. The job also includes operating a table saw to cut parts, sandblasting, and painting. This is a first shift position with hours from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. It is a safety-sensitive position, and qualified candidates will be subject to drug testing.

Requirements

Must be able to work in non-climate controlled environment.
Be able to bend at waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary to move equipment around in the department.
High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Assembles prefabricated parts to build metal and wood truck trailers, following blueprints.
Lays out, fits, drills, screws, bolts, and rivets together metal sheeting, upright frames, bottom and top bars, and angle clips, using pneumatic and hydraulic hand tools and machines, and templates.
Assembles and fastens together preassembled trailer side and top sections to trailer frame.
Assembles and bolts undercarriage in position and mounts tires on wheels.
Screws holding brackets in place and strings wiring for lighting system.
Applies sealant to assembled sections.
Operates table saw to cut parts needed for trailer and other departments.
Performs sandblasting.
Performs painting.
Performs other duties, assignments and responsibilities as needed.
