Requirements

At least 1 year of chassis, trailer, or intermodal maintenance experience (required).
Solid mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Able to stand, lift, and move throughout long shifts.
A motivated team player who takes pride in quality work.
Meets FMCSA mechanical experience requirements.
Familiarity with shop tools and equipment.
Detail-oriented, reliable, and safety-focused.
Basic personal tools and reliable transportation to the yard.
Pass a Physical Capabilities Test and drug screening.
Hold a valid driver's license.
Live within 45 minutes of Syracuse, NY (no relocation offered).

Nice To Haves

Welding experience and/or hostler (yard jockey) skills are a big plus!

Responsibilities

Perform thorough inspections and routine maintenance on intermodal chassis, trailers, and containers.
Diagnose and repair electrical, air brake, and hydraulic systems.
Replace suspension components, landing legs, and other critical parts.
Conduct air brake inspections and repairs to meet safety standards.
Handle welding, patching, and minor fabrication on containers as needed.
Change tires and address other on-the-spot repairs.
Accurately document all work for compliance and quality records.
Follow OSHA, FMCSA, and company safety protocols every day.
Pitch in with other shop tasks to keep the team moving forward.
