About The Position

The Traffic Specialist II manages all load tendering activities from external/non-HWI shipping locations to ensure cost-effective transportation of goods at service levels that meet corporate objectives. The role also oversees logistics invoice payment processing.

The position coordinates order dispatch and pickup assignments, creates shipping transactions and documentation, manages and reports logistics metrics, communicates shipping and tracking information to stakeholders, audits and processes freight invoices, supports continuous improvement, and handles freight claims.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Computer operation skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel expertise.
• Knowledge of Oracle/OTM and web-based software such as CarrierPoint.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to assemble and quickly analyze data to make decisions.
• Time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priority projects at the same time.
• Ability to solve business problems independently.
• Two to four years of professional experience in transportation planning.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch and assign all orders for pickup on the appropriate ship date to meet promised delivery dates using the most cost-efficient method available.
• Create physical transactions to ensure shipping documentation—including bills of lading, packing slips, and export documents—is generated promptly and accurately.
• Manage, analyze, and report HWI logistics metrics, including cost, 3-day lead time, and performance metrics, and communicate results to appropriate stakeholders.
• Communicate daily with shipping sites, carriers, and internal and external customers about shipping requirements and tracking information.
• Audit freight invoices and process them for payment.
• Support HarbisonWalker business objectives by identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
• Process logistics freight claims and follow up on them.
