About The Position

The Traffic Specialist II manages load-tendering activities from external/non-HWI shipping locations to ensure cost-effective transportation of goods while meeting corporate service objectives. The role also processes and oversees logistics invoice payments, freight claims, and logistics performance reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Computer operation skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel expertise.
• Knowledge of Oracle/OTM and web-based software such as CarrierPoint.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to assemble and quickly analyze data to make decisions.
• Time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple priority projects simultaneously.
• Ability to solve business problems independently.
• Two to four years of professional experience in transportation planning.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch and assign orders for pickup on the appropriate ship date to meet promised delivery dates using the most cost-efficient available method.
• Create physical transactions and ensure shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and export documents, is generated on time and contains accurate information.
• Manage, analyze, and report logistics metrics, including cost, 3-day lead time, and performance metrics, and communicate results to appropriate stakeholders.
• Communicate daily with shipping sites, carriers, and internal and external customers about shipping requirements and tracking information.
• Audit freight invoices and process them for payment.
• Support business objectives by identifying and implementing continuous-improvement and innovation opportunities.
• Process and follow up on logistics freight claims.
