About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Traffic Signal Timing Professional to join the ITS Team in Miami, FL. In this position, you will assist our growing traffic and ITS group in conducting traffic and ITS studies, utilizing data to identify operational and safety needs, preparing signal, ITS, and signing and pavement marking design plans for FDOT and other local agency projects. You will have the opportunity to work alongside project managers and senior engineers to gain a better understanding of the transportation industry and to further develop technical skills. Must have Interest in traffic engineering/ planning, intelligent transportation systems, traffic and ITS design and traffic operations. Requirements

  • BS degree in mechanical, civil, transportation engineering or electrical engineering
  • 3-5 years applicable experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience/ familiarity with Centracs, Tactics, KITS, Synchro, Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, Acrobat, Microstation, CAD, Synchro, VISSIM
  • Experience and strong understanding of intersection operations, controller programming, and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior engineers to design and develop plans and specifications.
  • Conducting safety and operational analysis for intersections and corridors and field maintenance.
  • Assist and collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure project efficiency, regulatory compliance, and timely execution.
  • Develop plans production, field visits, traffic engineering and ITS studies.
  • Research engineering standards, traffic operation, simulation, and safety.
  • Research and implementation of smart infrastructure and CAV technologies in programs and corridors.
  • Develop traffic simulations models using platforms such as Synchro, VISSIM, and Sidra.
  • Prepare signal timing reports for various corridors.
  • Review and interpret signalization plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and specifications.
  • Work with other disciplines such as roadway design, and environmental to increase engineering knowledge and facilitate successful project delivery for programs across the Southeast.
