About The Position

Under general supervision, performs moderately difficult electrical and electronic duties in the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signals, solid state signal controllers, field wiring, traffic detection loops and associated equipment; and performs related duties as assigned. The current vacancies will work a four (4) day work week Monday - Thursday from 9:00 pm - 7:00 am. The eligibility list created from this examination may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to six (6) months or up to one (1) year, depending on employment status.

Requirements

Graduation from high school or the equivalent
Three (3) years of full-time journey-level experience in the repair and maintenance of electrical or electronic equipment, which included at least one (1) year of traffic signal installation, repair, and maintenance
Must possess a valid Nevada Class B (or higher level) Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or another state’s equivalent, at the time of application
Must possess an International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Level I certification as a Traffic Signal Technician at the time of application
Must have the ability to obtain an IMSA Level II certification as a Traffic Signal Field Technician within the first eighteen (18) months of employment, as a condition of continued employment
All required licenses and certificates, as mandated by local, state, and federal laws, or as required herein, must be obtained and maintained at the incumbents’ expense
