About The Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Traffic Project Manager to join our Traffic & ITS Team in Columbia, SC. This role involves managing complex transportation projects that improve how people travel, collaborating with clients, directing project teams, and developing forward-thinking solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience required, including 2 years of project management experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline in Traffic Studies Analysis and Signal Design with a proven ability to apply best practices
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (MicroStation and Synchro version 10 or after) as well as Microsoft Office Suite and other management software
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
  • Proven ability to manage scope, budget and schedule of technical tasks
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, high-paced environment
  • Motivated self-starter who works well independently; adaptable, calm under pressure, and skilled in problem-solving and negotiation

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision preferred
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage Traffic & ITS transportation projects from development of project proposals through completion, delivering safe, resilient, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Oversee all aspects of project delivery, including scope, budget, and schedule, and serve as a primary client contact.
  • Coordinate contracts, purchase orders, and project documentation with clients and subcontractors.
  • Lead project financials, subcontractor payments, and monthly review meetings with operations.
  • Develop project-specific health and safety plans and ensure QA/QC compliance as determined by the Quality Management Plan.
  • Communicate updates clearly to clients, management, and project teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
