About The Position

An advanced technician position working indoors and on-site in a control room environment to monitor roadways via closed circuit cameras (CCTV) and to ensure the safe and efficient movement of traffic. This position will be tasked with managing scheduled and unscheduled traffic incidents and dispatching responders accordingly by utilizing Intelligent Transportation Systems devices. The initial contract will be for approximately 6 months but is subject to extension upon good performance.

Requirements

Basic computer knowledge.
Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is highly preferred.
Experience contributing within a team environment.
Solid communication skills, verbal and written.
Dispatch or call center experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Performing functions with minimal supervision and following established procedures.
Identifying more complex issues and deferring those to a supervisor.
Operating various computer-based traffic management systems to manage traffic and incidents on roadways and improve traffic conditions.
Monitoring roadways via traffic surveillance cameras and detection systems.
Monitoring all traffic devices and computer equipment associated with the system.
Maintaining advanced knowledge on the operation of all traffic equipment, computers and software associated with the traffic systems.
Becoming familiar with the roadways and understanding the purpose and location of traffic devices.
Communicating with multiple agencies to coordinate resources for incidents which may affect regional travel.
Performing other duties as assigned.
