About The Position

The Traffic Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and documenting all equipment needs and movements in and out of the facility. This role requires effective communication with internal and external contacts to ensure the facility operates efficiently. The dispatcher will professionally interact with Over the Road (OTR) and local drivers, serving as a positive interface for them as customers.

Requirements

• High School degree required.
• Must be computer literate (Excel, Excel, Word, Outlook, Web).
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to write reports and business correspondences.
• Must be able to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
• Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and or schedule form.
• Ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry and the ability to learn and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are or will be made available.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Dispatch experience is helpful but not required.
• Previous experience withing the Traffic or Transportation sector is helpful but not required.
• Six months clerical experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and document all equipment needs and movements in and out of the facility.
• Communicate effectively and professionally via telephone, email, two-way radio, and IM services.
• Read and write reports effectively.
• Apply mathematical concepts to practical situations when needed.
• Interpret a variety of instructions both written and oral.
• Handle several tasks simultaneously with minimal error.
• Professionally speak with a variety of internal and external customers using excellent customer service skills.
