Traffic Control Flagger
About The Position
Flagger Force is hiring Traffic Control Flaggers, also called Crew Members, to protect workers, drivers, and pedestrians in active work zones. The company provides traffic control services across the eastern United States. Crew Members are dispatched from home directly to job sites and work with Crew Leaders to set up and maintain safe work zones using appropriate equipment and communication. This outdoor, team-based role offers variety and hands-on experience in the traffic control industry, contributing to public safety and infrastructure development. The stated pay range is $17.50–$19.50 per hour. Advancement opportunities may be available in as little as 30–90 days, with promotional and training development bonuses.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required; employees must drive themselves to and from job sites. Ride-sharing and drop-offs are not permitted.
- Satisfactory driving record meeting company vehicle driving requirements, verified through a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review.
- Availability Monday through Friday, as early as 6 a.m. through late afternoon.
- Ability to stand for 8–12 hours, walk 1–2 miles per day, lift up to 30–50 pounds, and work outdoors in various conditions.
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliability.
- Must obtain steel-toe or composite-toe boots that lace above the ankles and are at least 6 inches high.
- Approved two-way radios.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain safe temporary traffic control work zones.
- Control traffic flow to protect motorists, pedestrians, and clients.
- Work as part of a team to support safety and efficiency at job sites.
- Assist Crew Leaders with setting up and maintaining work zones.
