As a Protector, you work with a team at job sites to support traffic safety. No experience or degree is needed; training and support are provided. Safety is the priority. The role involves setting up and removing traffic-control equipment, guiding traffic with a stop/slow paddle, monitoring traffic and job-site activity, and following safety rules. You communicate with your crew and supervisor and help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe. The work is outdoors throughout the year and in all weather. Shifts may change based on job needs, and some night, weekend, or emergency work may be required. You may stand or walk for 8 to 12 hours per shift. The employer provides a hard hat, safety goggles, safety vest, safety whistle, walkie-talkie, and hot- and cold-weather gear. Employees must provide their own steel-toe safety boots that go above the ankle.
