About The Position

Tidal is seeking a highly skilled Trading Associate to implement and manage various exchange-traded fund (ETF) portfolios. The role calls for a deep understanding of financial markets, strong analytical skills, and experience managing portfolios within relevant risk-reward frameworks.

The ETF Portfolio Management team provides portfolio management and execution services for ETF issuers. The firm manages active and index-based portfolios across most major global asset classes. The Trading Associate will be closely involved in the day-to-day portfolio management and trading of exchange-traded products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience; ETF or trading experience is preferred.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle challenges efficiently.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• VBA, Bloomberg, Python, or similar skills.
• Proximity to Chicago and New York.
• Basic Bloomberg command knowledge.
• Exposure to investment compliance guideline monitoring and updating.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, a desire to continuously improve workflows, an understanding of operational risk, and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in managing portfolios as a member of the portfolio management team and serve as a liaison with clients.
• Provide operational support through portfolio monitoring, trade execution, compliance reporting, and investment thought leadership.
• Perform day-to-day portfolio reconciliation.
• Work with the trading team to prepare or execute trades, rebalances, and ETF baskets.
• Understand the firm’s compliance and portfolio-management policies and procedures, and identify potential improvements.
