Requirements

  • High School GED General Studies
  • Minimum 5 years experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and contribute to the operational excellence of our facilities by applying proficiency in basic plumbing and electrical systems, under the general direction of the Facilities Manager.
  • Utilize knowledge of building management systems, including automation, fire alarm, and pneumatic tube systems.
  • Read and execute preventive maintenance instructions.
  • Apply understanding of central plant equipment like boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and VAVs.
  • Demonstrate strong hands-on skills in plumbing and electrical work.
  • Effectively troubleshoot and maintain critical building infrastructure.
  • Proactively ensure the safe and efficient operation of all assigned facilities systems.
  • Perform duties specific to skilled trade to include preparation, installation, inspection, cutting, building, restoration, interpreting blueprints and technical publications, pressure testing, calibration and adjusting operating parameters.
  • Perform repair and preventive maintenance, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks in accordance with applicable regulation(s) and code(s).
  • Maintain applicable records, reports, logs, etc. in compliance with codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.
  • Inform the proper authority when code violations are noticed.
  • Order and maintain sufficient levels of spare parts and supplies for all projects to provide uninterrupted service to the hospital.
  • Estimate time and materials required to complete repairs and weigh the cost and down time of repairs when considering making repairs in-house or using a contract service.
  • Correctly and safely utilize required tools to perform at a high level in the specific trade as needed for each assignment.
