The Trades Worker 8, Multi, will perform supervisory work and higher-level performance of a variety of miscellaneous mechanical and building trade functions. The Trades Worker 8, Multi, will perform under direction, less difficult tasks such as replace defective electrical switches, paint structures, repair woodwork, replace and repair plumbing fixtures, replace plaster, lay brick, and/or other related minor maintenance to district facilities. The Trades Worker 8, Multi, is a non-OTETA (Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act) position. SUPERVISORY EXPECTATIONS: Manage assigned clerical staff and subordinate professional personnel in one or more sections of the department. Take responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned teams. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the district’s policies and applicable state and federal laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
