About The Position

Join the Walmart Home Office Landscape Projects Team as a landscaper to play a key role in ensuring the beautification of the Walmart Campus. Spend your time working outside, alongside a team, with the common goal of providing a clean, safe, and beautiful space for our fellow associates and community. We are seeking an experienced Landscape Projects professional with strong construction and design/build expertise, including hands-on experience with hardscape installation.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of landscaping/grounds maintenance experience and willingness to work outside in a variety of conditions.
  • Proven experience in landscape construction and design/build projects.
  • Strong background in hardscape installation and construction methods.
  • Knowledge of grading, drainage, and site preparation.
  • Experienced in operation of Skid Steers, Loaders, Excavators, Tractors, Forklifts/Telehandlers).
  • Ability to read and execute landscape and hardscape plans.
  • Ensure projects meet quality standards, safety requirements, and timeline.
  • Demonstrates, promotes, and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining, guiding, and demonstrating how to apply these in executing business processes and practices; implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and assisting management with correcting ethical and compliance opportunities.

  • Porous pave experience helpful but not required.
  • Arkansas Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional, Landscaping/gardening industry

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a green space subject-matter expert by maintaining the grounds of the Walmart Campus, including the installation of landscape projects such as retaining walls, porous pave surfaces, boulders, drainage systems, and grading work.
  • Performs maintenance of garden beds, containers, and landscape areas to ensure they meet landscape requirements and project specifications.
  • Installs and maintains landscape features, including hardscape and softscape elements, to enhance campus aesthetics and functionality.
  • Performs basic maintenance (for example, cutting grass, managing weeds, raking leaves, mulching) and utilizes planting and pruning techniques as needed.
  • Demonstrates awareness of pest, disease, and weed identification in order to resolve issues through chemical applications.
  • Assists with the implementation of drainage and grading solutions to support healthy plant growth and prevent erosion.
  • Ability to be on call and report when needed for inclement weather support including (Heavy rains, hail, ice, & snow removal).
  • Leads and participates with teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools; determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments in a timely manner; providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and modeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges.
  • Assist with landscape projects from design through construction completion.
  • Collaborate with designers, clients, and field crews during the design/build process.
  • Oversee installation of hardscape elements, including patios, walkways, retaining walls, steps, and outdoor living features.
  • Read and interpret landscape plans, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
