We are currently looking for IP Administrators to join our Trademark group. In this role you will perform a variety of trademark prosecution tasks and administrative duties in support of our national trademark practice. Opportunities are available for both permanent and temporary positions, with temporary roles being a minimum 14-month term. This role is open to both bilingual (French/English) and non-bilingual candidates. These roles will fill existing vacancies.

Requirements

  • Office Administration, Legal Assistant or Paralegal diploma, or relevant combination of education and work experience
  • 2+ years of relevant Trademark experience in an office or law firm environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deal directly with clients
  • Excellent attention to detail, and is highly organized and proactive
  • Experience using MS Office and has the ability to learn new software quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment

Responsibilities

  • Review technical objections raised in Examiner’s reports, draft suggestions to overcome the objections and report to clients
  • File responses to office actions, including revision of application and all relevant follow through correspondences
  • File extension of time requests with CIPO related to examination
  • Other duties may be assigned or amended as required
