About The Position

Mountain West Windows and Doors is seeking a Trade Sales Consultant to develop long-term relationships with builders, contractors, architects, trade organizations, and consumer clients. This role is responsible for generating high-volume, profitable sales while achieving maximum market penetration and customer satisfaction. The position involves developing and executing sales strategies, managing customer relations, and ensuring product application, sales, delivery, and installation align with company and manufacturer guidelines. The Trade Sales Consultant will also promote the Marvin product line, represent the company at industry events, and provide product demonstrations. Additionally, the role includes quoting, ordering products, following up on leads, providing feedback on market activity, mentoring new team members, and facilitating continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Associate's, bachelor's, or technical education preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
  • Two to four years of sales, customer service, or business experience preferred.
  • Construction and/or window and door industry knowledge preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 or similar business applications and the ability to learn CRM, quoting, order-management, and company-specific software.
  • Ability to accurately enter, review, and interpret business and spreadsheet data.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills sufficient to perform the customer-facing responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain sales processes, product specifications, warranties, and related documents and to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and business partners.
  • Customer-focused, organized, collaborative, and self-directed.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, follow projects through completion, maintain attention to detail, and resolve customer or business issues professionally.
  • Ability to perform business and measurement calculations, including fractions, decimals, percentages, pricing, area, and dimensions.
  • The position regularly involves computer and telephone use and may require standing, walking, reaching, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and occasionally lifting or moving materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • The employee must be able to review electronic and printed information and safely navigate customer homes and construction jobsites.
  • A valid driver's license and compliance with the Company's Fleet Safety Policy are required.
  • Employment may be contingent upon satisfactory completion of job-related background screening, motor vehicle record review, and drug screening, as applicable and permitted by law.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all field activities and aspects relating to customer relations, product application, product sales and delivery, service and product installation instruction, collections, and striving for 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinates, promotes and advances the visibility and presence of the entire Marvin product line while maintaining a continual awareness of activity or news in the architectural and construction-related community.
  • Actively represents Mountain West Windows & Doors at company-sponsored events, at professional group’s invitations to discuss and/or present Marvin products, at trade association meetings, and at consumer home shows to promote Marvin products.
  • Able to present product demonstrations, accurately read, interpret and take-off blueprints, and to use electronic software and systems (PQM, MSOffice, etc.) to quote, sell and order products for remodeling and new construction residential and light commercial projects, and assist in providing prompt and on-time delivery.
  • Ensures that Marvin products are installed properly and in accordance with recommended guidelines of the manufacturer.
  • Follow up on leads generated by lead reports, window store generated and outstanding proposals.
  • Responsible for providing feedback regularly and upon request including but not limited to; wins and losses, competitive information, quality alerts as well as periodic special requests.
  • Responsible for mentoring newer team members and hosting Corp guests for field visits upon request.
  • Promotes and facilitates continuous improvement activities in the department.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned and based on business necessity.
