About The Position

Performance Contracting Group (PCG) is seeking a Mechanical Insulation Trade Coordinator for its PCI Kansas City 567 operations in Lenexa, KS. This individual will be responsible for participating in branch strategy discussions, establishing goals, measurables, and accountabilities, and contributing to PCG's safety program with an emphasis on the crews they train. The role involves attending Construction Department meetings and trainings, partnering with branch Superintendent(s) to improve craft worker processes, and establishing a specific training program tailored to individuals based on their name, classification, certifications, or tenure. The Trade Coordinator will work with current Field Leads for enhancement and identify future Leads from the field crew, aiming to achieve a healthy Apprentice to Journeyman crew mix by building competencies into Apprentices earlier. A mentorship program will be established to drive early adoption of best practices and philosophies, reinforcing PCG's investment in employee development. Responsibilities also include reviewing Labor Control weekly with crew leads, accurately reporting all time applied to their efforts as a Union Hourly position, maintaining a current OSHA 30 certification and other required certifications for the crews they train, and participating in evaluations for the Foreman Supplemental Bonus Program. A key focus will be on quality assurance to ensure all installations meet plans and specifications and are of high quality.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional work experience running crews on commercial projects
  • Security clearances, required certifications, safety training, licensing
  • Must possess advanced proficiency with Procore
  • Ability to communicate with crews and General Contractor regarding Schedule and efficiency
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • A clear understanding of how to read and understand specifications and drawings
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught
  • Customer service skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • General knowledge of trade tools, equipment and materials used in the construction industry

Responsibilities

  • Participate in branch strategy discussions with branch leadership
  • Establish goals, measurables and accountabilities
  • Participate in PCI’s safety program with an emphasis on the crews they train
  • Attend all meetings and trainings of the Construction Department
  • Work in partnership with the branch Superintendent(s) to improve the processes of our craft workers
  • Establish a training program that is specific to the individuals (by name, classification, certifications, or tenure) and an approach plan for the different facets. Some training plans may need to be phased to keep the total in stride.
  • Work with current Field Leads for enhancement and identify future Leads from the field crew
  • Work to a healthy Apprentice to Journeyman crew mix by building competencies into our Apprentices earlier
  • Establish a mentorship program that will drive early adoption of best practices and philosophies, and reinforce that PCI is invested in their development
