About The Position
Stevens Transport’s Paragon Leasing is hiring a Diesel Technician to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostic testing, and general and complex repairs on company trucks, including Peterbilt, Kenworth, and Freightliner equipment. The role includes scheduled and non-routine fleet repairs to meet DOT standards. Multiple shifts are available.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of general heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience.
- Basic tool set for job functions.
- Working knowledge of telematics systems and diagnostic software.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and understand operating manuals, service manuals, and written instructions.
- Valid Class C driver's license.
- Ability to clearly read, write, and speak English.
- Basic math calculation skills.
Nice To Haves
- Cummins or Detroit certifications.
- Commercial Inspection Certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and non-routine repairs on the company and contractor fleet to meet DOT standards.
- Diagnose and repair diesel and gas engines.
- Diagnose and repair suspension and steering systems.
- Diagnose and repair air and hydraulic braking systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and lighting systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance repairs.
- Change oil, check batteries, and lubricate equipment and machinery.
- Maintain a clean and neat shop.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
