About The Position
The Tractor Driver undergoes training to operate tractors that pull trailers for loading, supporting production lines, and other farm activities. The role requires adaptability to move between teams as needed, potentially within the same day, and efficient movement between locations to minimize idle time. A strong commitment to safety is essential. The position is primarily outdoors, with occasional work between locations and in an indoor office environment for administrative duties, including use of computers and standard office equipment. The employee must be able to read, write, and understand English. Work may involve exposure to dust, rain, cold weather, and allergens, and requires comfort around mechanical equipment. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with overtime and weekend work required during peak seasons.
Requirements
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks to company standards.
- Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and practices.
- Good communication skills and ability to work across multiple departments.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to operate equipment for extended periods, with frequent sitting during operation.
- Ability to stand, squat, bend, reach, and twist regularly, and frequently climb up and down from tractors.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds unaided and 50 pounds with assistance.
- Comfort working in outdoor conditions, including exposure to dust, rain, cold weather, and allergens, and around mechanical equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience operating farm tractors or similar heavy equipment.
- Experience operating outdoor equipment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate farm tractors to perform assigned tasks.
- Carry out tractor-related duties efficiently to contribute to farm productivity.
- Complete a daily startup equipment checklist, ensure equipment functions properly, and promptly address issues.
- Follow instructions from Managers and/or Team Leaders to complete tasks accurately and on time.
- Communicate clearly with team members to support collaboration.
- Take initiative and direction effectively to meet operational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
