Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and Facilities Maintenance experience in hospitality or related field, or groundskeeping/landscaping experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid state Driver’s License.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position in a proper and safe manner.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and basic finishing a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive approach to dealing with issues.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all departmental and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards.
  • Assumes responsibility for maintenance of the racetrack and racing grounds.
  • Maintains the appearance of the track to meet required standards; maintains plants, trees, and shrubs and applies chemicals as needed, under supervision.
  • Operates a variety of vehicles, machinery, and equipment to include tractor, pick-up truck, and power and manual maintenance tools.
  • Performs a variety of grounds maintenance duties to include weed treatment, painting, trash collection, and operating of irrigation systems.
  • Performs preventative maintenance as needed; cares for and maintains all light and heavy equipment.
  • Notifies higher level management of any suspicious or unusual activity in a timely manner.
  • Attends and participates in professional group meetings; maintains awareness of new trends and innovations in the field of track and ground maintenance.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters.
