About The Position

Responsible for the operation of the cable and/or rope tows at the Sylvan Winter Recreation Area. This role ensures safe operation by observing the tow line, enforcing rules for loading and unloading, reporting injuries, and maintaining clean areas around the chalet and outbuildings. The position also involves cleaning the chalet and responding to public inquiries. The seasonal dates are typically from December through March.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
Ability to successfully operate all machinery associated with the tow operation, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.
Skill in the safe use of motorized equipment.
Ability to communicate in a helpful, kind, and respectful manner and enforce rules firmly and fairly to ensure the safety of all customers.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to be thorough in completing work tasks to ensure a safe experience on the tubing runs.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
Ability to follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

Maintain the safe operation of all cable and rope tows by enforcing loading and unloading procedures.
Inspect all lines, hooks, machinery, loading and unloading areas, and general snow conditions prior to and throughout the shift.
Prepare all required inspection and operating forms and logs.
Assist, as needed, to prepare all required reports on incidents, including patron injury or discipline.
Report requests for repairs, supplies, and routine or emergency maintenance to the Chalet Manager.
Cooperate with volunteer groups to ensure the successful completion of special events and programs on site.
Clean and re-stock supplies and fireplace wood as needed inside the Chalet.
Perform manual snow removal, as needed, around the chalet and operational buildings.
Report any citizen concerns and complaints to the Chalet Manager.
Perform related duties as assigned.
