About The Position

This position is responsible for supplying production with properly made totes. The essential functions include manually forming totes for product shipment by folding cardboard in the proper manner and securing it to a pallet with shrink wrap. The Tote Maker will also supply tote inventory when stock is low and move formed totes with a manual jack to designated areas. This role participates as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness and accepting responsibility to identify and resolve issues. The Tote Maker is expected to be familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems and understand their role in supporting these systems. Other duties may be necessary in support of business objectives.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in a cool, noisy environment.
• Must be able to work on feet up to 10 hours per shift.
• Must be able to extend arms, bend back and stoop for the entire shift.
• Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist level and above and at shoulder level.
• Hearing protection, protective eyewear, smock, apron, gloves, hair net/beard net, slip-resistant footwear and other protective equipment as needed or required.

Nice To Haves

• Preference for poultry or food processing organization.
• Military experience is valued.
