The Torque Monitor position is responsible for the control of monitoring, measuring, and documenting manufacturing torque tools to ensure that equipment is suitable for its intended purpose and is capable of producing valid results. This role involves providing Manufacturing Engineering guidance and support to ensure that resultant fastener assembly processes, torque tooling, and equipment will improve throughput, scrap/rework reduction, reduce cost, and improve quality and reliability. The position also requires working with the PC&L team to optimize fastener material flow to the production line, maintaining/updating the Master Torque Matrix, and performing Static Torque Monitoring to monitor the assembly process and facilitate containment activities. Additionally, the role involves maintaining the torque database and equipment records, acting as a liaison with Plant team members to drive lessons learned and best practices, and maintaining the team’s workplace documents to current standards. The Torque Monitor is responsible for 5S in their areas and must be able to perform static pulls (227 per shift), learn quality alerts, corrective action meetings, and reporting tool exchange. A key aspect of this role is maintaining a safe working environment, promoting health and safety, and performing other duties as assigned.
