The incumbent will regularly perform tasks such as adhering to the Tool Room schedule, running Wire EDM and CNC machines including setup, logging work and hours, maintaining machines, performing basic machining like surface grinding and lathe work, reading technical prints with GD&T understanding, metrology, maintaining tool crib inventory, placing purchase requisitions, heat treatment of tool steels, following safety regulations, basic housekeeping, and supporting the tool room. Less frequently, duties may include calling vendors for machine support.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Tool Room schedule and report to the tool room supervisor
• Run Wire EDM Machines, including job and workpiece setup
• Run CNC machines, including job and workpiece setup
• Log work and hours performed
• Maintain EDM and CNC machines to ensure good working order
• Basic machining (e.g. surface grinding, lathe work)
• Ability to read technical prints, including understanding of GD&T
• Metrology
• Maintain and verify Tool Crib Inventory
• Place purchase requisitions for the tool room
• Heat treatment of tool steels
• Follow safety regulations and requirements
• Basic housekeeping
• Support the tool room
• Calling vendors for support on machines
