Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years of press related experience.
  • Must be able to read blueprint
  • Some basic computer skills required i.e. using Microsoft applications
  • Able to be aware of all relevant standard operating procedures as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times.
  • Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.

  • Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target.

Responsibilities

  • Support tool validation activities including mechanical adjustments to the press/die and troubleshoot when required, verify and adjust parameters like molding times, mold surface temperatures, gaps, bumps.
  • Prepare and maintain tooling for validation i.e. aqua line, CO2, clean and clear dies/molds.
  • Perform control checks and run samples for capability analysis, on center, visual and diameter analysis.
  • Operate die carts and forklifts, install and set up tooling in presses, remove tooling from presses, clean and store tooling, and receive and ship tooling as required.
  • Accurately complete necessary production and tool validation documents using applicable gaging and inspection equipment
  • Perform trim check/visual inspections when required.
  • Detect and report operating difficulties and/or specific problems to Tooling Management Team
  • Maintain a tooling schedule i.e. TLCM schedule, update upcoming die rebuilds schedule.
  • Maintain tooling spare parts inventory and complete necessary records and requisitions for materials/ supplies.
  • Work with applicable equipment including power saws, grinders, lathe work, milling, drilling, sawing and arbor press.
  • Work from prints, sketches, sample parts and verbal or written instructions
  • Other duties as assigned.
