About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Tooling Engineer in Saint Augustine, FL for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support the design, development, procurement, fabrication, and sustainment of manufacturing tooling and equipment. The engineer will develop tooling concepts and detailed designs, support tool builds and prove-out, troubleshoot shop-floor issues, and collaborate across manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 2–5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and tooling development.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience designing or supporting manufacturing tools, fixtures, jigs, gauges, dies, machinery, or related production equipment.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and supplier teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet production and schedule commitments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CAD software and engineering drawing release practices.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or production operations.
  • Experience with tool build and prove-out activities.
  • Root cause and corrective action experience.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and standard work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design manufacturing machinery, equipment, tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, and machine attachments.
  • Develop tooling concepts and detailed designs based on production and engineering requirements.
  • Create and release tooling drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
  • Support procurement, fabrication, assembly, and prove-out of manufacturing tooling.
  • Evaluate tooling designs for accessibility, cost, mobility, manufacturability, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues on the production floor.
  • Coordinate tooling activities with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and suppliers.
  • Support tooling modifications, improvements, and sustainment throughout the production lifecycle.
  • Perform root cause analysis and support corrective actions for tooling-related issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization of tooling processes.
