About The Position

Plastic Molding Technology (PMT) manufactures high precision plastic parts for automotive, telecommunications, medical device, renewable energy, and industrial customers. The primary manufacturing processes are injection molding and thermoforming. PMT has ~100 injection molding presses at its two primary manufacturing locations in El Paso, TX and Centennial, CO (a suburb of Denver).

Requirements

  • Technical degree (Plastics Engineering) or Equivalent Experience
  • 0-4 years of experience in an Engineering role supporting injection molding (tooling, quality, design, manufacturing, etc.)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good understanding of GD&T
  • Computer literate including software programs
  • Good understanding of Solidworks, CREO, or other parametric modeling software
  • Experience with DelmiaWorks IQMS
  • Analytical/problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented
  • Ability to take on a leadership role
  • Works well under pressure
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams
  • Ability to build/encourage teamwork and cooperation within work groups

Responsibilities

  • Manage molds and tooling for injection molding and thermoforming manufacturing process.
  • Design and develop molding components to assist with maintaining or enhancing performance of tooling.
  • Organize and maintain tool storage activities and tool movement processes.
  • Develop and monitor tooling maintenance protocols and schedules.
  • Monitor and maintain tool conditions and assist with tool maintenance as needed.
  • Evaluate repair needs and conduct repair analyses with accompanying repair plans.
  • Communicate with vendors as needed to facilitate proper tool care.
  • Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and evaluation of Mold Flow Analysis (MFA) for new construction of tools.
  • Oversight and maintenance of molds and tools utilizing Asset Management in the ERP system.
  • Assist with the quoting of new tooling for customers.
  • Assist with the movement and setting of molds in presses, as needed.
