The Tooling Coordinator is responsible for inspecting and recognizing tooling that needs to be repaired, replaced, or revised. This role involves machine scheduled walk-throughs to verify planned items are at the machines, and pulling, inspecting, and returning other tooling to proper locations. The coordinator will also pull a printing plate backlog once a shift, inspecting and staging items that meet requirements. Additionally, they will perform pre/post inspections of cutting dies, tag them once a shift, and pull and put away cutting dies as they are returned from machines. Assistance should be sought for dies or tools that are too large or heavy to handle alone. The position requires notifying the New Item Coordinator of dies or plates needing modification, repair, or replacement, and informing the Superintendent and Supervisors of the tooling status ('In-House Repair' or 'Outside Repair'). Responsibilities include assigning print plate & cutting die #'s, maintaining die spreadsheets, assigning locations to print plates and entering them into HRMS, attaching supporting documentation to be delivered to the die room, and being responsible for all outgoing tooling. The role also involves ordering tooling and supplies when needed, and potentially assisting with scanning print cards and cads in the system.
