YOU The Tool Room Wire EDM machinist programs, performs setup, and operates 4-axis wire EDM machines to produce precision components used in the construction of progressive stamping dies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED+ technical certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience setting up and operating a wire EDM machine
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in programming with CAM software.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with precision workpiece setups.
  • Wire EDM Machining - Program, set up, and operate a 4-axis Mitsubishi Wire EDMs to manufacture components to blueprint specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, and use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Communication - Ability to communicate effectively about project status and challenges.
  • Work style - Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced tool room environment that may frequently require pivoting between multiple tasks and adapting to accommodate shop priorities.
  • Team Dynamics - Communicate project status, challenges, or quality concerns to shop leads or Supervisor.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment and communicate with other shop personnel professionally and effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Esprit is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Wire EDM machine maintenance procedures is a plus.
  • CAD/CAM - Familiarity with CAM software, specifically Esprit and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to program from both 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate Wire EDM machines to manufacture steel components to specifications provided by Toolmakers and Designers.
  • Perform secondary processes and finish work using conventional shop equipment to support production needs and ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Performs daily machine maintenance duties
