About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Tool Room Attendant in Decatur, Alabama. The role receives, stores, and distributes materials, tools, equipment, and products. This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Foreman. Duties are assigned according to specific procedures and work is checked frequently.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and basic safety equipment.
• Knowledge of Turner Industries color codes for power tools, rigging, and safety equipment.
• Comply with company and client job-site safety requirements.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
• Complete a post-offer drug and alcohol screen and physical evaluation, and sign acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.

Nice To Haves

• Preferably one to three years of experience in the specified skill.

Responsibilities

• Read and sign off on the JSA before starting each shift.
• Store, remove, load, and unload materials and tools from storage bins, pallets, and vehicles when they cannot be handled by material-handling devices.
• Operate manual or mechanical devices and stock inventory shelves.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, or color.
• Fill requisitions for materials, tools, or stock items.
• Record material items received or distributed and maintain inventory records as needed.
• Perform routine housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
