Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; GSP equivalent experience considered.
  • 5–10 years of relevant toolmaking or manufacturing experience, depending on level of assignment.
  • Strong communication and listening skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Proficient in interpreting and utilizing various inputs from multiple sources (e.g., drawings, specifications, feedback).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze needs, design and troubleshoot solutions, and develop successful tooling or product outcomes.
  • Understanding of broad manufacturing processes and procedures within the company.
  • Skilled in using a wide variety of machine tools, processes, and methods.
  • Able to complete and maintain required company records and documentation accurately.
  • Self-directed, with the ability to work independently and follow through on assignments from start to finish.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be a professional with strong work ethic and comfortable working as part of a team that includes all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate all tool room equipment to produce high-precision components.
  • Perform complex machining operations utilizing advanced setups and methods to maintain extremely close tolerances and precise fits.
  • Conduct highly skilled bench work, including fitting, assembling, adjusting, and testing tools and components to ensure proper functionality.
  • Develop tooling solutions and fabricate prototypes such as jigs and fixtures from 2D drawings or sketches.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to tools, fixtures, and prototype development.
  • Assist in or perform production setups and operations when needed.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and support to less experienced toolmakers and production setup personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required for tooling, maintenance, and production processes.
  • Keep work area and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including good housekeeping and security practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing and tooling operations.
