Requirements

  • Technical school degree or 5 years related experience (required)
  • 5 years related manufacturing experience, plastic injection molding experience and CAD/CAM software experience
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English (required)
  • Ability to review and interpret plastic injection mold tooling prints
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the design, build and maintenance of molds and fixtures used in plastic injection molding and assembly
  • Readily make and/or correct 3D prints utilizing ProE technology. Convert ProE drawings into CAM-based computer files for use with CNC machines and complete the production/fabrication of tools
  • As part of these processes, individual will analyze specifications, lay out metal stock, set up and operate machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to fabricate or repair cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, or machinists’ hand tools, applying knowledge of tool design, shop mathematics, metal properties, and layout, machining and assembly procedures by: Studying specifications, such as prints, sketches, or tool description and plant the sequence of operations
  • Measuring, marking and scribing metal stock to lay out work pieces for machining
  • Setting up and operating machine tools, such as lathe, milling machine and grinder to machine parts to specifications, and verify conformance of machined parts to specifications
  • Examining standard tools and modify tools as required
  • Laying out, machining, fitting, assembling and finishing metal parts to make and repair dies for plastic injection molds analyzing specifications and applying knowledge of die and mold design and construction
  • Setting up and operating machines in order machine outer dimensions and contoured cavity of die mold according to specifications provided
  • Other assignments as directed by immediate supervisor or their designee
